FREE Residency Program Winners - 2014

Selection of the Winners was based on the educational potential for the youth orchestra and the larger community. Classics Alive Foundation is delighted to underwrite the total cost of each residency which is valued at $5,000. Congratulations to all of the orchestras.

And the 2014 Winners are:

LAPCA Youth Orchestra - East Los Angeles, California
Conductor - Dr. Gideon Rubin

Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra - Columbus, Ohio
Conductor - Peter Stafford Wilson

Northwest Indiana Symphony Youth Orchestra - Munster, Indiana
Conductor - Philip Bauman

Young Peoples' Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Each residency will last 3-4 days. Over the course of that time, Ms Deutsch will participate in a wide variety of activities and community engagement activities with the students of the youth orchestra. Activities will include Q & A sessions, masterclasses, discussions about "Career Paths In Music" and "Audience Development", visits to schools in the community, and more. Each residency will culminate in a final performance with the youth orchestra, or a solo recital in which the members of the youth orchestra are encouraged to attend.
